Research Assistant - Institutional Research, Planning, and Effectiveness

The Research Assistant provides support to the College's Office of Institutional Research, Planning and Effectiveness in data management and reporting functions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, creating reports for HCC as well as external offices and agencies; analyzing data using statistics such as frequencies, correlation, means, etc.; creating graphs and charts using various software; coordinating and communicating as needed to complete scheduled reporting; and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Work schedule is up to 20 hours per week, to be scheduled within the regular office hours of Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A bachelor's degree and one to three years of direct research or related experience are required. Equivalent technical training, education, or experience may be considered.
Applicants must be proficient in a Windows-based computer environment, including experience with MS Access, Excel, and PowerPoint, preference will be given to applicants with experience using SPSS.
Experience extracting data from an electronic database is required; experience using Banner or other ERP is preferred.
Experience creating reports, surveys using survey software, and data visualizations using Excel and other software is also required.
Applicants must have excellent organizational and communication skills, and have the ability to work independently on routine scheduled tasks.
