Coordinator for Institutional Effectiveness
Harford Community College

The Coordinator for Institutional Effectiveness coordinates and strengthens institutional effectiveness, assessment, and strategic planning processes; identifies needs and conducts training and professional development; and utilizes documents, reports, and assessment results for institutional planning and continual improvement.

Duties include, but are not limited to, consulting with unit leaders throughout the College; administering the College's assessment management system, including training employees, monitoring data input, generating reports, and, in collaboration with computing and technology support and vendor support, implementing updates to the database; monitoring higher education institutional effectiveness trends; researching and communicating trends and best practices; monitoring and influencing budget processes, to include identifying areas of improvement for planning and budget processes; and providing consultation and training.  Other duties include providing support for accreditation activities and processes; maintaining web communications related to institutional effectiveness, assessment, and planning; serving on campus-wide committees; and performing other duties and projects as assigned.

This is an exempt, professional staff position reporting to the Director for Institutional Research, Planning, and Effectiveness.

Job Requirements

A master's degree, preferably in an evaluation and assessment-related field, and three to five years of relevant experience in education or a related setting are required.  Advanced skills in a Windows-based computer environment and applicable technology are also required.

Applicants will be evaluated on criteria including, but not limited to, experience establishing organizational goals and benchmarks and aligning those with state and national goals and benchmarks; experience evaluating, interpreting, and communicating assessment results and preparing related reports, presentations, and documentation; experience implementing technology solutions for assessment or measurement processes; and experience training and/or presenting workshops for small and large groups.   

The ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships across many constituencies and interact effectively with technology vendors is also required.
