Provide professional mental health services for UW campus community including: group counseling, individual brief (time-effective) therapy, and couples counseling, assessment (drop-in and Intake sessions), referrals as needed, and crisis services during office hours and after-hours if needed (We have an after-hours on call service).  Intervention and assessment includes interpretation and integration of psychological testing and diagnoses.

Complete necessary and required clinical and administrative paperwork in timely manner and consistent with professional standards and office expectations.

Provide consultation to parents, faculty, and staff about mental health topics; provide outreach to various groups on campus on a variety of mental health topics.

Attend administrative, training, and clinical meetings.
Participate in UCC Training Team through instruction, supervision, and evaluation of UCC clinical trainees, in particular, availability to provide supervision to trainees who will use hours toward future licensing as psychologists or mental health counselors.

Coordinate consultation and outreach activities.  Assist with assessment, benchmarking, and outcome research activities for UCC, under direction of UCC director or UCC associate director. As part of outreach delivery, help with development and maintenance of the UCC/AWARE Web pages.

Collaborate with campus and community partners (e.g. participation in coalition meetings).

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications  

Doctorate in Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology.
Licensed Psychologist strongly preferred, but license eligible candidates will be considered depending on qualifications and time it will take to become licensed.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications  

College counseling experience and knowledge of group counseling.  Experience and knowledge of brief, time-effective therapy. Demonstrated commitment to clinical work, outreach, training, and wellness, and integration of developmental perspective in all these endeavors.

Advocacy of multicultural and diversity issues in counseling.  Ability and interest in providing supervision to trainees.

Dedication to working as a team. Ability to manage conflict and to communicate effectively during problem-solving.

Flexibility and readiness to work during non-office hours.

Ability to perform essential duties under stressful situations.

Provide supervision to trainees toward WY licensure.

Demonstrated program coordination skills. Experience with assessment/data collection. Prepare reports as assigned. Interest in learning the University’s web page software.

Furthermore, this position requires knowledge and skills in the following areas: Clinical supervision; Professional ethical guidelines, including the maintenance of confidentiality; Effective mental health assessment, intervention (including group counseling), and referral; Effective rapport building and interpersonal work with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds; Personal stress awareness and management.
