Clark University’s Physical Plant seeks to fill the position of Groundskeeper. Reporting to the Superintendent of Grounds and Assistant Superintendent of Grounds, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting other members of the grounds team in maintaining the University grounds.
Duties and Responsibilities
Included in a range of responsibilities, the Groundskeeper will do mowing, raking, weeding, seeding, sodding, fertilizing, and planting as well as other landscaping tasks; snow removal and treatment; maintaining equipment; unloading trucks; trash pickup as well as other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate should have MA Hoisting Engineer License Grade 1C and 2B or higher (or the ability to obtain within six months of hire). In addition, the successful candidate will possess a valid driver’s license, and a valid MA pesticide license is preferred. In addition, the Groundskeeper must have basic math skills in addition to solid knowledge and understanding of grounds equipment and use of power equipment and tools related to grounds work. Individuals with experience/knowledge in grounds operations, pesticide/fertilizer calibration and application, irrigation management, arboriculture, and sports field maintenance are strongly desired. This position is considered “Essential Personnel,” which requires on call attendance during weather emergencies and is responsible for snow removal and/or treatment; along with necessary overtime at certain peak times of the year.
Technical qualifications include basic computer competency
This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, 12 month position with an anticipated hourly rate between $15.96 and $16.86 and excellent benefits, which include employee and family tuition benefits, vacation, generous retirement plan, free use of campus fitness center and many more.
