Assistant Professor of Political Science with a focus on Business and Politics

The University of St Gallen and its Department of Political Science invite outstanding candidates to apply for an assistant professorship in the field of Business and Politics.
We are looking for an excellent scholar with a specialization in empirical research on the role of private business actors in politics. This may include, among others, business-government relations; contributions about firms' roles in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals; the political effects of varying ownership of key infrastructures and natural resources; managerial preferences, corporate control, and political development; the link between corporate social responsibility and public policy (e.g., corruption, welfare, environment, security); governance by private actors; or industry self-regulation.
The successful candidate is expected to undertake research of the highest international standards within his or her own field of specialization and to teach in English in the university's programmes in International Affairs and Governance (two classes per week during term).
The Department of Political Science is a member of the School of Economics and Political Science (SEPS) and offers excellent research conditions and a stimulating academic environment. Through its collaborations, research centres and exchange programmes, it maintains a wide international network. The SEPS is committed to promoting young scholars in their career advancement. The appointment is for a term of 6 years. Applications from qualified women are particularly welcome.
