Assistant Professor- Statistics
University of Memphis

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Memphis anticipate hiring a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Statistics to begin in August 2018, pending final budgetary approval.

Applications are invited from candidates with a PhD in Statistics or Biostatistics whose area of research interests include data science, statistical modelling of big data, Bayesian Inference, bioinformatics, biostatistics and other areas related to the modeling and analysis of big data.

Candidates are expected to have a proven record of collaborative research and will be expected to seek external funding. The successful candidate will typically teach two courses per semester in statistics and conduct collaborative research especially in the context of projects related to data science and big data modeling and analysis.

Job Requirements

PhD in Statistics whose area of research interests include data science, statistical modeling of big data, Bayesian Inference, bioinformatics, biostatistics and other areas related to the modeling and analysis of big data.
