The Department of Art at Florida State University (FSU) welcomes applications for a dynamic leader to Chair a vibrant and forward-thinking program with a national reputation for excellence. We seek an artist/educator with a proven record of strong administrative experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:† The Chair is responsible for providing a shared vision and leadership, advocating effectively for the faculty and department within and outside the university, and encouraging collaborative interdisciplinary programming. The chosen candidate will guide our acclaimed program through active faculty development, student recruitment, academic planning, facultyr evaluation, promotion and tenure, facilities use, budgeting/allocation of resources, and promotion of faculty and department.

DEPARTMENT:† The Department of Art confers undergraduate BA, BFA and graduate MFA (3-year) Studio Art degrees. Our programs encourage interdisciplinary investigations across a wide range of concentrations, spanning photography, digital media, painting and drawing, printmaking, photographic and artist books, ceramics and sculpture. The department includes 21 full-time faculty and approximately 12 adjunct faculty. Our current enrollment is approximately 460 undergraduates and 31 graduate students. Both BFA and MFA programs provide students large personal studios and exhibition spaces. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to our departmentís diversity and excellence, our community, and thrive in a public research university.

RANK AND SALARY: Tenured Professor, 12-month appointment. Salary $100,000-$110.000, commensurate with experience. A terminal degree is required.
