Position Summary
A senior level position responsible for performing complex, highly responsible, and confidential administrative services for a department requiring a broad knowledge of the services and functions of the department. Supervises and coordinates services in a fast paced office environment requiring to independently organize, set priorities, manage multiple complex tasks and projects, and establishing deadlines. This position requires an advanced working knowledge of the District’s organizational structure, functions, policies and procedures. Responsible for exercising a high degree of independent judgement, tact, and discretion due to a high degree of interaction with various external and internal individuals.

Job Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Requires advanced knowledge of desk top software. Accurate typing and the ability to generate reports, access data, and communicate relevant information to staff and management. Ability to interpret and apply administrative policies, regulations, and rules: understand and follow complex oral and written instructions; make decisions requiring independent judgement; knowledge of protocol and communication techniques employed in an executive office; ability to safeguard sensitive and confidential information; compose correspondence independently using good business vocabulary and written communications skills; keep complex records; prepare reports; and meet the public in situations requiring tact, diplomacy and poise. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. The ability to provide quality customer service.

Physical Requirements
Work with light, easy to handle material requiring little physical effort.

Minimum Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor’s degree plus four years of highly responsible office management and secretarial experience or Associate’s degree plus six years of highly responsible office management and secretarial experience or graduation from high school or equivalent plus eight years of highly progressively responsible office management and secretarial experience.
