Dean, School of Business
NCU is currently seeking an individual to become part of our School of
Business team as the Dean. This is a leadership position, reporting to the
Responsibilities include: developing and implementing academic and
business strategies for the School of Business; establishing and
maintaining productive relationships with external constituencies,
including business and professional communities, accrediting bodies,
regulatory agencies, and the alumni community; and leading the School team
toward continuous quality improvement.
This position is highly operational
focused. It has supervisory responsibility for all personnel assigned to
the School of Business and is responsible for the overall direction,
coordination, and evaluation of the department. Direct reports include
assistant deans and directors.
Provides academic and business leadership for the School
Responsible for strategic planning for the School of Business
Responsible for continuous improvement in existing programs and
curricular evaluation and development by overseeing assessment and
academic program review activities
Responsible for developing high quality, differentiated, new
curriculum and degree program development consistent with the
Schoolís mission and market opportunities
Responsible for corporate outreach initiatives
Performs as the chief academic and budgetary officer of the School
Manages and improves upon processes.
Manages and holds accountable the faculty and staff of the School
Serves as a productive partner with other School Deans and
University staff members to fulfill the mission, objectives, and
quality of the University.
Promotes a graduate culture of scholarship, teaching, service, and
Complete all required professional development activities as
defined in the Faculty Handbook
Reasonable and consistent attendance to fulfill requirement of the
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proven ability to communicate well in a variety of settings with a
variety of media and delivery systems, including written, oral, and
social media is required
Proven ability to lead in academic and business settings is
Proven ability to effectively establish and maintain relationships
with business communities, industry partners, accreditation bodies
(regional and professional), and the Schoolís constituents is
Proven ability to manage and improve curricula to meet changing
markets and needs is required
Academic-level proficiency in at least one language other than
English, preferably Spanish, is highly desired.
Proficient with Microsoft Word and other applications in the
Microsoft Office suite.
Education and Experience
Terminal degree required, PhD/DBA preferred
Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience in an academic
Successful experience in achieving and maintaining regional and
professional (AACSB, ACBSP, AACSB) accreditation is required
Experience in Higher education preferred
Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise preferred
