Job Description

The College of Southern Maryland is currently seeking a Sr. Human Resources Generalist - Director level. This position will oversee Organizational Development/Performance Management/Training: Designs, delivers and implements professional development, continuous learning and succession planning programs for assigned business units in order to help drive talent management, employee engagement and performance management. Additionally, the incumbent in this position coordinates and manages the total Human Resources function for an assigned group of business units. Thus, the incumbent must have a thorough understanding of a multiple functioning HR role in employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, leadership development and performance management as it relates to groups (change management) and individuals (appraisals).  The incumbent serves as a recognized leader in cultural transformation and change management, internal consultant, project director and liaison to drive the execution and completion of projects. 

 

The work schedule for this position 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Flexibility is required.

Job Requirements

Required Skills

  • Preferred Master’s Degree in Psychology, Human Resource Development or a related discipline required and 3 years of experience in a diverse range of HR functions ; OR  Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Human Resource Development or a related discipline and minimum of 5 years of experience in a diverse range of HR functions; OR Associates degree in related field and minimum of 8 years of experience in a diverse range of HR functions to include employee relations, employment and recruiting along with experience managing the appraisal process.  Must have served in a leadership role for at least 5 of those years
  • 3-5 years of experience training employees at every level of an organization
  • Strong track record of effectively coaching and influencing executives.
  • Experience in an educational environment preferred
