Texas Woman’s University

Texas Woman’s University (TWU), America’s largest university primarily for women, is seeking applicants for both the BSW and MSW programs to begin in Fall 2018.

Consider this rare opportunity to join a historical, 70 year old BSW program with a positive, collegial, and diverse group of faculty.

Denton, about 30 miles north of Dallas and Fort Worth, is a thriving arts community with a nationally recognized music and entertainment scene and a very reasonable cost of living.

Denton is included in the top 100 “Best Places to Live” in America, ranks in the top 10 “Best College Towns” in America, and still retains the feel of a small town college community.

Minimum qualifications include prior teaching experience, an MSW degree from a CSWE accredited Social Work program, and two years of Social Work practice experience.

A Ph.D. in Social Work or a related field is preferred.

  • a demonstrated potential to serve in positions of leadership.

Preference is given to applicants with one or more of the following qualifications:

  1. a strong record of publications and/or extramural funding;
  2. three or more years of full-time social work teaching experience;
  3. experience developing and teaching online and blended courses; and/or
  4. a successful history of serving as the director of a CSWE accredited program.

MSW Opening

The successful candidate for this new Associate Professor or Professor faculty position will provide creative, engaged instruction in graduate social work courses, pursue an active and collaborative research agenda, and contribute to the development and administration of a Joint MSW program with the University of North Texas.

The successful candidate must hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program and have a minimum of two years of full-time professional post-MSW practice experience.
