Department Chair, Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology
The Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology (SPPA) within the College of Health Sciences at Marquette University invites applications for the position of Department Chair.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the department to new levels of excellence. Some notable strengths include productive faculty research programs, a Bilingual English-Spanish Specialization (BIES) program in speech-language pathology and cross-departmental instructional and clinical collaborations.
The Marquette University Speech and Hearing Clinic is a state-of-the-art facility equipped with current technologies. Marquette’s innovative clinical programs and resources include the Intensive Aphasia Program, social communication groups, pediatric feeding, audiology community outreach and six specialized research laboratories.
Our CAA-accredited M.S. graduate program in Speech and Language Pathology is ranked in the top 28%, and our students consistently receive 100% pass rates on the Praxis exam.
The Chair will provide dynamic leadership and vision in furthering the success of our research and educational programs.
Additional responsibilities include research and teaching in area of expertise, personnel management and mentorship, budget management, and advocating for the department within the college, university, community and profession.

This is a full-time, 12-month faculty position available on July 1, 2018. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Qualified candidates will hold a doctoral degree in speech-language pathology, audiology or a related field. CCC-A or CCC-SLP certification is required.
Candidates should be eligible for appointment as a tenured Associate Professor or Professor based on an established record of excellence in research, extramural funding, teaching and service.
Professional administrative experience, including coordination and fiscal management of department programs, is highly desirable.
Successful candidates should also show evidence of effective leadership and communication skills.
