The Psychology Department at the State University of New York, College at Plattsburgh announces a tenure track assistant professor position in School Psychology beginning Fall 2018.
The Psychology Department offers baccalaureate degrees in Psychology and the MA and Specialist degree (Certificate of Advanced Study) in School Psychology.
The successful candidate should also be committed to excellence in graduate training and to supporting the learning and development of children, youth, and families.
Successful candidates also will be committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service. The person should also demonstrate an understanding of and sensitivity to diversity and gender issues.

Active involvement in the administration of the master’s-level School Psychology program, teaching graduate courses in the School Psychology program and undergraduate courses in the successful candidate’s area of expertise, developing and maintaining an active research program that engages undergraduate and graduate students in meaningful roles in the research process, and supervising School Psychology interns and practicum students, and engaging in community outreach appropriate to such supervision.
Candidates may be asked to teach courses in a distance learning format.
An earned doctorate (Ph.D., PsyD, or Ed.D.) in school psychology and the requisite training and experience for certification as a School Psychologist in New York State are required.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated an ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty, staff, and administrators.
A doctoral degree from an APA- or NASP-approved School Psychology program is desirable.

Salary: $52,000 minimum, plus excellent benefits.
