Bryan Pearce Bagley Chair in Entrepreneurism

Nominations and applications are invited for the position of Bagley Chair in Entrepreneurism in the Whitacre College of Engineering at Texas Tech University.
The recipient of this chair is expected to possess an outstanding research and teaching record that are commensurate with appointment as a tenured professor.
As an endowed chair holder, the faculty member will be required to develop academic offerings to equip engineering students for business aspects of engineering practice.
The chairholder will be expected to develop an externally funded program in research and scholarship.
A sister Bagley Chair (Jean Austin) in Management is held in the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech which will provide for unique collaborative opportunities.
Candidates must have a terminal degree in an engineering or business field. Candidates who have very strong records of scholarship supported by extramural funding and who have the proven capacity or clear potential to bring externally sponsored research to Texas Tech University are encouraged to apply.
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with national and international companies. Significant industrial experience in entrepreneurship, innovation and start-ups is preferred.
Service duties include program-building, as well as commitment to extra-curricular activities. Service to the department, college, and university is expected.

The College of Engineering consists of the Departments of Chemical Engineering; Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering; Computer Science; Electrical & Computer Engineering; Industrial, Manufacturing and Systems Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; and Petroleum Engineering and the chair holder can hold tenure in any of the departments, all of which are ABET accredited.
Application review will begin October 1st 2017 and continue until the position is filled. Desired starting date would be Spring 2018.
