Assistant / Associate Professor Finance

The Sheldon B. Lubar School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee invites applications for an Assistant / Associate Professor in Finance to begin in Fall 2018.

The primary responsibilities in this position will be to provide high quality research for publication in top-tier business journals and teaching excellence in the Lubar School of Business. Additionally, the selected candidate will contribute to the mission of the Lubar School by engaging with, mentoring, and advising students, by providing service to the area, School, and University through committee service and other shared governance activities, and by enhancing the School’s strong linkages with the business community.

Job Requirements

Qualified candidates for both positions will possess a Ph.D. in Business or a closely related field, majoring in Finance or a related area and must have a strong interest in teaching courses in Corporate Finance and/or Investments.

Candidates interested in the Assistant Professor tenure-track appointment will possess a recent Ph.D. or anticipate completion by August 2018. Qualifications also required for the Assistant Professor include the potential for high-impact research and the capacity for teaching excellence. Preference will be given to candidates who possess excellent communication skills as evidenced in teaching evaluations, along with an ability to work collegially and collaboratively within the university and the business community.

Associate Professor Candidates will need to meet the tenure criteria for the rank of Associate Professor with qualifications that include a record of exceptional quality research published in top peer-reviewed journals and demonstrated record of teaching excellence. Preference will be given to Associate Professor Candidates with excellent communication skills as documented in teaching evaluations, along with experience in guiding doctoral students and interfacing effectively with the business community.

The Search Committee will review applications beginning November 01, 2017 and continue until the position is filled. However, applications received after October 31, may not receive consideration. Dr. Yong-Cheol Kim, Search Committee Chair, will be attending the 2017 Financial Management Association (FMA) Conference in Boston, MA (October 11-14, 2017) and will meet with interested applicants.
