Duties and Responsibilities
Included in a range of responsibilities, the Associate Director will manage and coordinate immigration and visa related functions to insure that the University is in compliance with U.S. Government regulations pertaining to international students; maintain liaison with department staff and faculty to provide appropriate immigration advising; assess and process requests for immigration forms using the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Student and Exchange Visitor System (SEVIS); advocate for Clark students and scholars with representatives of U.S. government agencies regarding immigration issues; collaborate with the Director to provide International Student Orientation programs; and sit on various University task forces and committees dealing with issues related to international students, immigration, or campus interculturalism as well as other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will have a master’s degree. Other qualifications include: 1-3 years of progressive immigration advising experience; experience in an academic setting with complex compliance and regulatory functions related to immigration advising, institutional policies, and SEVIS processing; excellent attention to detail, ability to multitask, customer-friendly attitude, ability to deal with stressful situations and to work independently and as member of a team; and proficiency in Microsoft Office. US Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Residency, as mandated by federal regulations is required.
