Position Summary
Works with a specific area/module of a specific computer information system. Responsible for analyzing and designing program/system improvements for existing and future software. Responsible for creating test plans, testing, working with the user groups, creating ad hoc reports, problem solving, documenting changes and requests, and acting as a liaison between the end users and the software manager of that area. Evaluates application performance, troubleshoot problems and provide assistance to users.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Compiles and writes documentation to describe program development and revisions. Provides support and resolves routine problems. - Assists in determining user requirements for new and modified programs and/or systems. Reviews and tests new and/or existing programs, rocesses. Monitors status of projects and ensures meeting pre-determined deadlines. Participates in training of users with detailed information of system capabilities. Analyzes, formulates and documents written specifications for data processing applications. Writes simple to complex queries based on user specification. Adhoc file queries. Create and revise test plans for major implementations; participates in system testing and conversion.  Assists system administrators as necessary with software loads related to new releases. Assists with analysis and assessment of current computer system and operations. Notifies and assists Software/Systems Trainers and Help Desk Analysts in documenting training programs and ensuring accurate, up-to-date training and support. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong organizational and analytical skills with accuracy and attention to details. Ability to identify system requirements. Advanced knowledge of functions and requirements of assigned program area, ability to assess user needs, obtain information and communicate in a clear and logical manner. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Strong knowledge and experience providing effective customer service.

Physical Requirements
May be required to lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent plus two years of experience in technology, software applications, programming or other relevant computer information systems/computer science area or Associate’s degree plus four years of experience in either technology, software applications, programming or relevant computer information systems/computer science area. Official transcripts will be required. ***Will be subject to a criminal background check.  Some positions may be subject to a fingerprint check. ***
