PHOTOGRAPHY INSTRUCTOR (part-time position)
Pensacola State College

The Photography Instructor will teach courses in the Photography Technology associate degree program.

This position requires the effective teaching and advising of diverse students, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to the comprehensive state college mission. The instructor will prepare course plans and materials, effectively deliver course content, and monitor student attendance and progress. Day, evening, and distance learning teaching assignments are possible. This position reports to the District Academic Department Head, Business.

 

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from an accredited institution with a master's degree in photography; experience teaching college-level photography courses; documented proof of proficiency in commercial studio, location lighting, black and white and traditional color materials, working experience in Adobe Photoshop, knowledge of industry expectations and digital trends, and a significant exhibition and/or publication record. Successful results of a background check are required.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

Include cover letter and application, resume, teaching philosophy, 15 images of personal work, and 15 examples of student work (including name, date and size for all work), unofficial transcripts and the name, address and telephone of three references.
