Structural Engineer - Tenure-Track Position
The Department of Civil and Resource Engineering has a long-standing record of innovation in civil infrastructure with researchers in structural engineering, bridge engineering, structural health monitoring, soil-structure interaction, and fibre reinforced polymers, as well as a CRC in Sustainable Infrastructure.
The successful candidate should complement these research areas and have experience in experimental and numerical methods through a demonstrated record of research and publications.
The Department has a particular interest in individuals who would be able to develop research in one or more of the following areas: marine structures, retrofit and rehabilitation of existing structures; advanced technologies for structural engineering; advanced structural computation and simulation; smart structures and materials; and hybrid testing and simulation.
The successful candidate must provide evidence of demonstrated excellence in, and commitment to, research and teaching.
The candidate will be expected to establish a strong externally-funded research program, supervise graduate student research, participate in service activities at the Department level and beyond, and foster existing and new collaborations with government and industry as well as collaborate with members of Dalhousie’s research community.
Applicants must have earned a PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related field and be eligible and committed to registration as a Professional Engineer in Nova Scotia.
