Responsible for providing support to the Executive Director of Human Resources and the human resources staff in managing, planning, coordination of benefits, the processing of location payroll and benefits functions ensuring accurate and timely processing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervises, trains and evaluates payroll staff involved in the day-to-day payroll and benefit transactions; including supervising and verifying of payroll and benefits data. Responsible for auditing and verifying various personnel and payroll transactions for completeness and accuracy including auditing forms such as insurance, enrollment/claims and special employment agreement contracts. Coordinates with Executive Director of Human Resources in updating and maintaining accurate information related to payroll services and location benefits information. Drafts written communication materials for a variety of audiences, both internal and external to instruct, explain and or persuade. Plans, directs and executes leave of absence matters for employees which includes communication to the district human resource office and/or general agencies (workerís compensation, disability carriers, etc.) for clarification and filing of required documents. Counsels and assists employees, retirees, and location human resources staff with inquiries and problems regarding insurance, claims, retirement matters and in understanding policies and procedures related to payroll and/or benefits. Coordination of benefits and leave information to location college and individuals. Responsible for maintaining and updating required posters for benefits, workerís compensation, etc., as designated by district human resources. Supervisory: Responsible for the selection, training, counseling, development and evaluation of full time staff. Performs designated duties of the Director in his/her absence. Responds to questions from benefits providers, Employees Retirement System of Texas, Teachers Retirement System of Texas, and other external agencies (Tax Sheltered Annuity Representatives, workerís compensation claims managers, etc.), regarding benefits and policies. Performs other duties as assigned.†
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to coordinate and/or perform multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. Ability to interpret and apply administrative and department policies and regulations. Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports and communicate with others. Requires demonstrated oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Strong knowledge and experience providing effective customer service.

Ability to facilitate meeting with professional support staff, administrators, and faculty.

Attend meetings and make presentations with President's Team, HR Council, and Talent Central Staff
Works with light, easy to handle materials requiring little physical effort.
Minimum Knowledge and Experience
Bachelorís degree or higher plus six years of human resources experience or Associateís degree plus eight years of human resources experience. Must have two years of supervisory experience.
