Job Description

This administrative position is located in the Maryland Center for Environmental Training at the Regional Campus in Hughesville and reports to the MCET Executive Director.  The primary function is to provide administrative support to offsite (Baltimore) staff members as their liaison, which requires knowledge of MCET’s staff assignments, commitments, deadlines, and operating policies. Other responsibilities will include acting as the MCET Cost Center Manager monitoring all MCET cost centers, running financial reports from College CRM, handling of direct payments, travel submissions, bi-weekly personnel activity reports/timesheets, encumbrances and purchase orders, and assisting with reconciliation and close out of Cost Centers including assembling all backup documentation for invoicing purposes. This is a very busy office and the incumbent needs to be able to be able multi-task with accuracy and meet deadlines consistently.  Incumbent may need to travel occasionally to support special events.


The work schedule for this position if 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Job Requirements

Required Skills

  • AA or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years administrative experience including: multi-tasking, excellent communication skills and excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge in managing cost centers/bookkeeping/accounting
  • Ability to work with multiple software packages, specifically Excel at a minimum of an intermediate level;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Detailed record keeping, reporting and planning skills required;
  • Excellent cooperation and teamwork skills; and
  • Excellent customer service skills.
