Custodial Supervisor Events & Utilities (199386)
Clark University’s Physical Plant Department seeks to fill the position of Custodial Supervisor, Events & Utilities.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Custodial & Mail Services of Physical Plant, the successful candidate will dispatch utility work orders, site preparations, event setups/breakdowns and concurrent event management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Included in a range of responsibilities, the Custodial Supervisor Events & Utilities will manage the custodial supply inventory, including purchasing, delivering on campus and maintaining safety data sheets.
In addition, the Custodial Supervisor will repair and maintain custodial equipment, perform and manage moves, deliver and setup furniture, supervise the work of others, including conducting custodial inspections and approving time, and provide basic custodial coverage as needed, as well as other duties as assigned.
This position is considered essential personnel and as such this employee will be expected to report to work during University emergency closings, and may be required to work overtime to respond to weather or facility-related incidents.
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma/GED, 3 years’ professional cleaning experience, a Massachusetts driver’s license and a 1C license to operate a fork lift.
The candidate must have the ability to lift 75+ lbs. pounds, to withstand the strain of performing manual tasks and to walk/stand for a majority of the shift with the physical dexterity to perform custodial tasks.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to make general repairs of a simple nature, the ability to work without supervision and have an awareness of safety concerns and risk management.
In addition, the candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience working in a customer service-oriented environment with the ability to provide positive customer service.
Technical qualifications include demonstrated experience using basic computer features (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and web-based computer applications.
The employee in this position must be able to meet the requirements of a Utility Custodian.
This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, 12 month position with excellent benefits, which include employee and family tuition benefits, 4 weeks’ vacation, generous retirement plan, free use of campus fitness center and many more.
