Hiram College has an immediate opening for a Registrar.†
The Registrar provides leadership in planning, organizing, and managing the activities related to the Registrarís Office, including serving as the Collegeís official keeper of student records.†
Aligned with FERPA guidelines and college/university best practices, the Registrar manages and maintains the integrity and security of all academic records. Key duties of this position include overseeing, assigning, and/or performing functions associated with federal reporting and compliance regulations, student registration, grade processing, transcript processing, graduation clearance, class schedules, and college cataloging.† Additionally, the Registrar will provide leadership in discerning and developing the technology needs of the office.†
The successful candidate will also provide the professional support requested by various academic committees and will be responsible for supervising the office staff and budget.
Candidates for the Registrarís position must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills and have a demonstrated proficiency in using relevant technologies. In terms of the latter, candidates must be adept in the use of Microsoft Office modules (especially Word and Excel) and be able to work in or learn other relevant software applications.†
Experience working with an integrated student information system (Ellucian/Banner preferred) is highly desirable.
Other qualifications include: professional knowledge of the registrar code of ethics, standards, and best practices; ability to work independently and make sound judgments; as well as the ability to work gracefully and productively as a team member.
Successful candidates must have a timely and sophisticated understanding of FERPA and other higher education regulations related to student records.†
They should also have excellent managerial, supervisory, and communications skills.† Candidates must enjoy working with students, staff and faculty, and have a creative mind to develop innovative solutions to a variety of challenges.
A Bachelor's Degree is required, Master's preferred.
Previous experience in a Registrarís office is required, supervisory experience in a Registrar's Office of a regionally accredited institution is desirable.†
