Assistant Professor in Accompanying and Vocal Coaching

The George Mason University Schools of Music and Theater in Fairfax, Va., seek a full-time Term (one-year renewable) Assistant Professor in Accompanying and Vocal Coaching, beginning August 16, 2017. Duties will include rehearsing and coaching singers/actors in the opera and Musical Theater programs, supporting music and theater productions and classes in both fall and spring semesters. Teaching responsibilities will also include individualized coaching for advanced students. This position reports to both the School of Music and School of Theater Directors.
It is necessary the successful candidate be an excellent collaborative pianist and possesses knowledge of Italian, German and French adequate to coach individual students. It is required that the candidate has a Master's of music degree or the equivalent and experience in coaching opera and musical theater repertoire.
