Assistant Director, Programs
New York University

We are seeking an individual to assist with operational oversight of the Project Management graduate degree program for the Division of Programs in Business (DPB) within the School of Professional Studies (SPS).

Responsibilities include:

  • Resolve faculty issues or concerns related to the degree program.
  • Specifically, address academic-related questions around NYUSPS policies and procedures, course scheduling, course preparation, etc.
  • Analyze faculty and course data, produce detailed faculty and course reports, and provide recommendations for course and faculty needs across the degree program(s).
  • Conduct market research in an effort to identify industry trends and make recommendations based on industry trend reports.
  • Collect, analyze, and make recommendations based on student feedback data in order to determine student satisfaction, degree completion rates, and job placement rates.
  • Ensure student organizations are following policies and procedures, provide advisement to student organizations for events, and secure necessary resources for student organizations.
  • Supervise staff, office support and student employees; exercise authority or make effective recommendations for hiring, promotions, salary adjustments, and any other change of status.

The NYU School of Professional Studies offers a broad range of degree and noncredit programs that are professionally oriented, integrate theory with real-world applications, and are taught by faculty members who are leaders and innovators in their fields.

The School of Professional Studies captures the expertise of the key sectors that make New York City a great global capital, such as real estate, finance, marketing, public relations, global affairs, hospitality and tourism, sports management, philanthropy and fundraising, communications/media, writing, the arts, and others. Full- and part-time students enroll in on-site and online credit programs, including graduate degrees, graduate certificates, and undergraduate degrees for both adults returning to school and traditional-aged students.

In addition, working professionals and other adult learners pursue career objectives or intellectual discovery in over 2,500 courses, diploma programs, conferences, and seminars annually.


Job Requirements

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Education:

  • Advanced degree, MA, MS or MBA.

Required Experience:

  • 5 years' relevant experience or an equivalent combination. Must include experience planning and implementing administrative activities.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in a higher education environment

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute tactically. Must be able to work well in a changing environment and practice creative problem solving. Ability to market programs, solve problems and interact with individuals at all levels.
