Nursing Instructor (Mental Health) - 2017

Provide classroom and clinical instruction for ADN students; teaching role includes didactic and seminar style teaching, clinical supervision of students; simulated clinical environment instruction.
Faculty role includes academic advising, professional development/scholarship, and service to the college.
SBTCE’S MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A Doctorate or master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a master’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline) required.
FDTC’S PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing; master’s degree or doctoral degree in the nursing discipline required; current unencumbered SC nursing license is required; a minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience as a registered nurse or advanced practice nurse in mental health specialty.
Must have good communication and people skills; demonstrated skill in the use of computer technology to conduct and support administrative, teaching, and scholarly activities.
Assignments to include didactic (classroom) and laboratory/clinical instruction. Must be willing and able to be trained in classroom and clinical use of computers and simulators.
Particularly looking for broad clinical experience that includes strong med-surg. with some comfort in specialties like pediatrics, mental health and obstetrics.
